Jaqueline Macedo (she/her)
Communications Specialist
I'm a mix of writer, web manager, and systems thinker with a design eye and a genuine soft spot for organizations that exist to serve people. The part I care most about is the humans and communities on the receiving end.
I came to Vancouver from São Paulo with a communications degree, six years of corporate experience, and a genuine drive to make things work for people. Starting over in a new country meant finding a new version of myself, including the one who could finally be funny again in English. Still a work in progress.
Since 2020, I've been at Langara College's Enrolment Services office, working across the whole stack: the email, the website, the official calendar, the form, the sign, the training doc.
Open to communications, web production, community engagement, content design, and UX writing roles.
- Self-taught in English through movies, music, and stubbornness.
- Doodling since phones had cords and I needed something to do with my hands.
- I write a lot. Still building the courage to hit publish.
- I love being bad at new things. Current project: beach volleyball.
- Transitioning from big-city-night-owl to quiet-town-early bird.
- Replacing my scrolling habit with conversation with strangers. It's been interesting.
